Day 04 | 4:00 PM (KST)
Everland, South Korea’s largest theme park that welcomes over 6.6 million visitors a year was nothing but an ever-so-wonderful experience. Unlike the average theme park, Everland houses a zoo and a water park along with its exhilarating roller coasters.
Everland is known for the T Express, South Korea’s steepest roller coaster and also South Korea’s first wooden coaster. A ride on the T Express could easily be the ride of one’s life. With a drop of 57 meters at a speed of 104km per hour, it literally left us all at the edge of our seats. A whole three minutes on the T Express will have you back on the ground, astounded.
Other coasters included the Rolling-X Train, a coaster with two loops and corkscrews and the Dragon Coaster, a two circuit powered coaster.
Apart from the roller coasters, there was an animal themed section of the park called Zoo-Topia that includes a petting zoo, the safari world, animal rides and animal shows. With animals such as lions, tigers, ligers and bears – oh my. The petting zoo includes animals such as sheep, ducks and guinea pigs. Camel and pony rides are also available for theme parkers of Everland.
One of the most recent additions to Everland is the K-Pop Hologram concert. Inside the theatre, we had the opportunity to experience an amazing technological capability, hologram. It’s was a PSY concert where holographic PSY even interacted with us. The entire experience felt so realistic, left all of us in awe!
Everland also included several little eateries from an Oriental restaurant to a retro American Burger café. There were many booths selling snacks such as churros and ice cream to satisfy the hungry tourists.
Another huge attraction of the theme park was the Haunted house located in the Horror Village. The haunted maze had several rooms of terror and the objective was for us to escape the maze. Also in the Horror Village, you could find all sorts of ghosts and monsters walking about, which makes for a perfect photo opportunity. In lieu of Halloween, the entire theme park was filled with tons of Halloween designs and the souvenir shops had a special Halloween section too.
Our visit to Everland ended on a magical note as we managed to catch the fireworks show and the Moonlight Parade. The theme parkers gathered at the flower garden facing a huge stage where the show started out on a large screen. It showed how a large fire-breathing dragon, which raised from the ground, attacked the characters and how the day was saved by a magical pheonix. The show ended with a breathtaking display of fireworks, which lasted for almost 20 minutes.
This spectacular trip to Everland is easily the highlight of the trip for many of us so far. Everland is one theme park all thrill seekers should visit!
